Beth's Bookworms
Beth’s Bookworms is an opportunity for participating students to meet Congresswoman Van Duyne and be recognized for their love of learning and reading. This program will challenge and encourage elementary and middle/junior high school students to read during their summer break.
Participating students are asked to read and log at least five (5) books and track their progress towards this goal using the Book Log. Students who meet the five (5) books goal will be invited, with their families, to a special celebration with Congresswoman Van Duyne to be recognized for their achievement. Students will have the opportunity to share their favorite book that they read over the summer.
Students who participate and complete this program will get to take home a book selected from the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program. The student in each grade who reads the most books will receive a special recognition from the Congresswoman!
Eligibility: Public, private, and home-schooled elementary and middle/junior high school students, Kindergarten – 8th grade.
Program Dates: June 1 – August 31, 2025
Recognition Date: Fall 2025
