Explanation of Request:  This vehicle will be used by the cities for planned community events & unexpected incidents requiring extensive command and control. In addition to response, this vehicle will also contribute to multi-departmental training & preparedness.

Explanation of Request:

The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because Increase security profile of the terminal exit operating model by adding physical barriers, infrared sensors, and remote-control capability, improve customer satisfaction with a simple, streamlined, touchless exiting experience, enhance operational reliability and readiness by ensuring all terminal exits remain open during business hours.

Explanation of Request: The DPS Police K9/Bomb Squad Unit has more than doubled since 2013. The current facility has been stretched beyond capacity over the last 10+ years. Addressing aging infrastructure is essential to support incrementally adding more personnel, canines, and equipment as needed to accommodate increasing annual passenger loads

Explanation of Request: The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because increasing the mobility of the Bomb Squad allowing for an increasingly secure scene perimeter and safe operations area for first responders, while allowing for analysis and quick diagnosis of suspicious packages and devices to protect officers and citizens when dealing with coordinated complex terroristic attacks, hostage situations, and other criminal activity

Explanation of Request:  The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because a Weed & Seed program would complement and bolster the Dallas Police Department's Violent Crime Reduction Plan modeled after the original federal program.

Downtown Carrollton Depot-Mobility Hub Project

Amount of Request: $1,500,000

Explanation of Request: The funding would be used to support the expansion of transit supportive development beyond the current downtown area including the planning, design, and construction for utility connections to support public and private reuse options, as well as exterior and interior rehabilitation. The goal of the project is to preserve an important downtown historic resource and transform the depot into an asset for both DART's riders and the community.

Northeast Tarrant County Radio Consortium Project

Amount of Request: $5,332,480

Explanation of Request: This project will sustain NETCO's P25 trunked radio system by performing five (5) platform changes in the radio network infrastructure (RNI) The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because the funding will be used to perform five platform upgrades to the interoperable radio system that will greatly enhance the radio communications system used by public safety, fire and emergency medical first responders in six cities in Northeast Tarrant County as well as mutual aid partners throughout the region.

Elevated Storage Case Project

Proposed Recipient: City of Hurst

Amount of Request: $3,798,600

Explanation of Request: This additional elevated storage volume will help the City meet the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s regulations for 100 gallons elevated storage per existing water connection. This will also help the city meet the increased water demands from redevelopment occurring along West Pipeline Road and State Highway 10.

NTECC Project

Proposed Recipient: North Texas Emergency Communications Center, Inc.

Amount of Request: $10,000,000

Explanation of Request: funding of the North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) Facility. NTECC was formed through a partnership between the cities of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Coppell and the Town of Addison, to provide Emergency 911 dispatching services for the four-city area.
