Summer of Workforce Solutions
After speaking with thousands of North Texans and hundreds of businesses this year, there were two problems I heard over and over. Hard working Americans are looking to make a change to a better career but often don’t know the best first step, and business owners are looking to hire skilled full time career positions at companies all over North Texas.
Over the next six weeks, I want to share information and opportunities with anyone who may be considering a change in career, a new job or interested in helping friends and family find the best path for them. Together, we will look in depth at the opportunities available in different industries including: public safety, aviation, transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, and technology and STEM.

PUBLIC SAFETY
Texas-24 has dozens of public safety departments working selflessly every day to keep our communities safe. Each department, both police and fire, provide wonderful career choices that come with a built in family and support all of you who are dedicated to serving our communities.
TRANSPORTATION
We have seen through the supply chain crisis of the past year how important and fragile our transportation and logistics systems are, and how we are in need of skilled and dedicated people to work in this crucial industry including CDL certified drivers.
HEALTHCARE
With the changing landscape over the last three years, Healthcare jobs are as important as ever and here in North Texas, we need more nurses, technicians, lab workers and hospital staff than ever. This thriving industry has seen challenges when trying to find workers of every skill and education level. This week, we will bring together local stakeholders to discuss their workforce challenges and how we can work together to keep our hospitals and healthcare professionals best equipped to function at the highest levels.
MANUFACTURING
DFW metroplex is home to more manufacturing jobs than any other metropolitan area in Texas. We are supplying the world with everything from medicine to airplanes, and there are high quality jobs available that are crucial to our supply chain. This week, we will connect local stakeholders to discuss their labor shortage challenges and how to see success moving forward.
