Congressional App Challenge

Each year, I have the opportunity to host the Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students across Texas-24. This competition encourages participants to learn to code and looks to inspire them to pursue STEM-related careers.

Congressional Art Competition

Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives hosts a nationwide high school Congressional Art Competition. This is a creative opportunity for students to compete and showcase their artistic talents through an original two-dimensional piece of artwork. The winning piece will be displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol.

Internships

Each year, I have the privilege of providing internships for students and recent graduates in our District office as well as our Washington D.C. office. Internships are a great way to learn more about the legislative process, acquire beneficial office skills, and contribute important work to a Congressional office.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. At this time, our district office is accepting applications for the 2025 Spring and Summer sessions. Our Washington D.C. office is accepting applications for our 2025 Summer session.

Washington, D.C. Family Fly-In

The Washington, D.C. Family Fly-In is designed to encourage civic engagement and instill a love for democracy in our Texas-24 community. This trip provides children in grades K-12 and their families with a personalized and up close experience of our nation's capital – from a nighttime tour of the U.S. Capitol building, to embassy visits, a behind-the-scenes look at the legislative process, and more.*

U.S. Service Academy Nominations

As a Member of Congress, I have the honor of nominating eligible candidates to the service academy of their choice. This program gives exceptional student leaders the opportunity to serve their country while earning a world-class education.

Youth Advisory Council
