Rep. Van Duyne Named Chairman of Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access; Added to Key Ways and Means Subcommittees
January 16, 2025
Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) was selected to serve as Chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access and continue serving on the Small Business Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Regulations. On the Ways and Means Committee, Van Duyne was selected to serve on the Ways and Means Subcommittees on Tax, Trade, Oversight, and Work & Welfare.
“I’m honored to be appointed Chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access," said Rep. Van Duyne. "Over the last four years, Democrats imposed more than $1.7 trillion in regulations and drove inflation up by more than 20%. With the faltering economy that Biden-Harris are leaving behind and the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act set to expire, this is a critical juncture for America’s working families and small businesses. I look forward to collaborating with the Trump-Vance Administration and Chairman Williams to cut taxes, slash burdensome regulations, increase access to capital, and eliminate barriers to growth. On the Ways and Means Committee, I’m grateful for the opportunity to lower taxes for North Texans and working families across America, advance President Trump’s trade agenda – including tackling trade cheats like Communist China – and reforming welfare programs to help lift Americans out of poverty."
"Rep. Van Duyne has always been a strong and guiding voice on this Committee, most recently as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Regulations last Congress,” said Chairman Williams. "After seeing her success last Congress coupled with her tax and regulations experience as an active member on the House Ways and Means Committee, I look forward to seeing the leadership she will bring to the table as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access. We are ready to continue our fight to restore Main Street America.”
