Van Duyne Selected to Serve on House Small Business Committee
January 29, 2021
WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) released the following statement after being selected to serve on the U.S. House Committee on Small Business.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to represent North Texas on the Small Business Committee,” said Van Duyne. “As a former mayor and businesswoman, I’ve spent the majority of my career working hand-in-hand with thousands of small businesses across the region. They are the heartbeat of our communities and have suffered, through no fault of their own, as a result of this pandemic. I know many small business owners have invested their life savings to keep their doors open, and I’m committed to advancing policies in Congress that ensure their investments remain worthwhile.”
“Small businesses are the backbone of this great nation, and now more than ever, our hardworking men and women must be granted the opportunity to open their doors and contribute to the economy,”said Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO). “I am excited to welcome Congresswoman Van Duyne as a recommended new member of the House Committee on Small Business as I know she will be essential in defending Main Street from extensive regulations while ensuring responsible government assistance for our nation’s small businesses. As Lead Republican, I look forward to working alongside all of the members on this committee and fighting for America’s small businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
