Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Van Duyne’s legislation passed through Congress and now goes to the President’s desk to be signed into law. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), – which included Rep. Van Duyne's bipartisan bills – passed the House 363 - 70.
“I want to provide solutions to the problems North Texans are facing and work each day to improve our economy for working families, from fixing supply chain problems to leveling the playing field for small businesses." said Rep. Van Duyne "In today's fiercely contested political climate, bipartisan solutions are still within the bounds of a nation often-times divided by ideology. I look forward to this bill's arrival on the President’s desk so we can deliver results for the American people."
Rep. Van Duyne’s bill directs the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the CIA to identify critical supply chains to our national security, economic security, and public health and recommend necessary actions. This is the first necessary step towards fixing the critical security weaknesses exposed through this supply chain crisis.
Another of Rep. Van Duyne’s bills was also included in the NDAA. This legislation directs the Secretary of Defense to assess whether the Department of Defense's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework on small businesses could create hurdles to keep small businesses from competing effectively.
