Press Releases

Today, Rep. Van Duyne announced Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport has been awarded $26,296,755 in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program's (AIP). DFW Airport received funding for two projects, $3,262,344 for Zero Emissions Vehicles/Infrastructure, and $23,034,411 for constructing an Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Building.

"I am thrilled for DFW Airport to finally receive the funding for their Fire Fighting Building. After advocating for this project for months, I am glad to see the Department of Transportation agrees this is necessary funding for one of America's largest airports," said Rep. Van Duyne. "It is an honor to have DFW Airport included in TX-24, and I will always fight for its well being, development, and modernization as its importance to our region as it continues to grow."

AIP provides grants to public agencies with the purpose of developing public airports included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. The funding is drawn from the Airport and Airway Trust Fund, which receives money from "fees, fuel taxes, and other revenue sources."
